He didn't set the world alight but, when he arrived he had no pre season training, it was his only second season at top level, he just finished his first season in serie A, and he still managed to be the second goal scorer of the team without being a proper striker.
He played alongside partners like Franco, Mc Carthy, Mido and Ilan and sometimes he was used as a winger.
He's improved from the player he was at that time and we have seen more toilets after his departure.

Recall him coming on v arsenal and playing really well, unfortunately that was his one stand out performance amongst a pile of mediocrity, a couple of decent goals not withstanding. A decent left peg but overall not good enough.

He was a bit shit and far too lightweight for the PL last time round, but quite exciting at times and at least looked like he might somehow create something at a time we were without inspiration and desperately looking for a hero.

My abiding memory of him was when we got turned over at home by Bolton, both goals came from his wing, the first he was off the field changing his boots, the second he was sitting in the centre circle having a whinge about a foul rather than getting back up and playing for his team. Of course he had mad hair and when he wasn't putting the ball in row Z he managed to bag a Hollywood goal every now and again. The post 96ers love that shit.
